2018 Winter Olympic Host City

Another case where the question setter knows he or she is setting a trap, but just goes ahead and does it anyway.

Just ask a different question!

It was announced in January 2016 that Pyeongchang would shift the 'c' in the romanisation of its name to upper case, specifically to avoid this confusion with the North Korean capital.

'PyeongChang' means 'land [of] prosperity', while 'Pyongyang' means 'flat land' or 'land [of] peace'. (A good example to use, next time you're trying to explain to an American what irony really is.)

PyeongChang is actually not a city but a county. It includes the Alpensia ski resort, which will be the focus for the outdoor sports at the 2018 Winter Olympics.
